Trying to decide on a location for our engagement pics…
I have asked a good friend of mine if he would take some engagement photos of Chris and I. Thanks Russell!! We have been engaged for two years now, but I think I might want to use them for Save-the-dates and to display at our wedding reception. Plus, they’re just nice to have.
So the shoot is scheduled for Sunday, November 9th, which gives me less than two weeks to decide on a spot. Hopefully it won’t be as cold and windy as today!
I really like the urban shots with brightly painted concrete, fire escapes, bricks, but then I also love the fall foliage at different parks in the area. I am in love with the red bridge at Centennial Park..
Here are my ideas for locations and some photos i’ve found of them:
- Tide Point, Baltimore
- Centennial Park, Columbia
- Federal Hill, Baltimore
- Historic Ellicott City
- Main Street Annapolis
- Georgetown, DC
If you have any other ideas that you think we might like, send them my way!

In historic Ellicott City and Annapolis, you can get both an urban feel as well as some nature. Ellicott City has train tracks and lots of greenery, but it also has color doors, shops, and wonderful textures. Annapolis has unique alleyways, colors, textures as well as greenery around the state house… though there’s construction going on at the state house right now.

i would vote for the bottom three - annapolis, ellicott city, and georgetown, although georgetown is kinda far. I think the colors in all of them would be great.

Fall leaves would be really pretty at Centennial Park, and bridges are awesome… and you live really close to it! So I think you should def do that. Also, Federal Hill in Bmore would be cool because you’re wedding is in Bmore, and wedding pics will show the skyline from a different perspective than Federal Hill, so that’s kinda neat…
As far as the others, I like all of them, I think you made great choices! Oh, and I could show you come cool spots to take pics in Philly!;)

I agree with Amy, choose somewhere you have been before and is part of your relationship’s history. Somewhere you have gone and spent time together before, that way it will look nice and will bring memories from your past when ever you go to that spot or look at the pictures. So it’s more of a place to shoot memories, then just a pretty backdrop!!
